Awkwafina
American actor and musician Awkwafina began her career with hilarious songs that dealt with racial identity and sexuality with an incisive and humorous perspective, before expanding her reach into Hollywood. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants within Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came via the trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop training began as she was in her teens. In the college years, she remained focused on her studies. She took up a degree in women's studies and journalism. While she was for a brief amount during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until after she finished her studies. Her 2012 track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet and was later released on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also featured viral hit tracks including body-positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$1. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015. This was an additional project. The resume of her included musicians and an author. Now she was looking to expand her career into acting. She's appeared in movies such as Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in the year 2018, with several high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. That June she issued the EP in Fina We Trust.
